Alen Hamza immigrated to the United States from Bosnia-Herzegovina as a refugee at the age of fifteen. He has received fellowships from the Michener Center for Writers and the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown. His poems have appeared in The Southern Review, Narrative, Prairie Schooner, Fence, Crazyhorse, The Missouri Review, and elsewhere. He’s currently pursuing a PhD in Literature and Creative Writing at the University of Utah.
