Artist Statement

My paintings consider the perception of nature and the pace at which landscape is experienced. Through abstraction, these works attempt to construct environments of fragmented, fabricated space.

Through deliberate manipulation of horizon lines, subtle repetition of silhouetted forms, and a push and pull of the foreground, I present viewers with an abstracted vantage of place and space in an attempt to challenge our ideas of beauty within landscape.
