Editor’s Note

Editor’s Note, Issue 84

Another issue under our belts! It’s always a bit of a hectic time getting the issues together, as us editors and contributors are spread out over time and space (even more than usual in this issue!) But as it starts to come together and we build the pages, everything starts to gel and I, for one, can feel my excitement building. I speak for all of us when I say that we are extremely proud of this issue (and the other ones, too!) and we take pride in being able to bring you some of the amazing poetry, prose, and new media that has crossed our path.

This issue features something uber special–a spotlight on some contemporary emerging Lithuanian writers who were participants in the Lithuanian language workshops at the 2014 Summer Literary Seminars program in Vilnius, Lithuania. (You can read more about that in this post.) We are genuinely honored that these contributors, and indeed all of our contributors, have trusted us with their work.

There are many things on the horizon for us! Stay tuned for our spring issue (around AWP-ish) and the release of Nathan Poole‘s Pathkiller as the Holy Ghost, chosen by Benjamin Percy as winner of the Quarterly West Novella Contest. We will be hanging out with it, and Nathan, at AWP, throwing him a release reading, and eating cake. Yes. Cake. Be on the lookout for more information about that, and more about this year’s novella contest!

Dispatched with love from all points West & East, your editors,
